This Privacy Policy applies to the collection, storage, use and disclosure by Language Exchange Australia of your information.  Access to our site and services is conditional on your approval of this Privacy Policy and you agree that your use of our site or services implies your consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.  Any reference in this Privacy Policy or our Terms and Conditions to "us", "our" or "we" is a reference to Language Exchange Australia.

Collection of information

When you complete our Booking Request form we collect relevant information from you that enables us to arrange for an interpreter for your matter.  Information that we collect includes your name, organisation name, organisation address, email address, phone number, details of the matter and other relevant details for the booking. 

What do we do with your information?

When a Booking Request form is submitted we receive details of the form automatically. This information is stored securely on our computer system and is used to locate and confirm an interpreter from our network to complete your assignment. We may also use this information to help us improve our services to you and to send you marketing material from time to time including emails or newsletters. We may also use any non-identifying or sensitive information for the purposes of marketing material or advertising. We will never pass, sell, distribute, transmit or otherwise convey your information to any third party other than as indicated in this Privacy Policy or our Terms and Conditions or to protect our rights or protect the safety of others, or as required by law.

Disclosure of information

We may disclose certain contents of the information collected from the Booking Form to our interpreters who are independent contractors in order to secure an assignment. The information that we may disclose to our interpreters includes the organisation name, number of interpreters required, language required, date of appointment, time of appointment, description of matter and address details of the assignment. Our officers, employees, agents and independent contractor interpreters are expected to observe the confidentiality of your information and are instructed not to disclose your information to any third party unless with the prior written authority of us or you.  We will never disclose any of your financial details or invoice email address without the prior written approval of you or an authorised person in your organisation, or as required by law. 

How do we keep your information safe

We ensure to take complete care of your confidential information at all times and will never disclose any unauthorised information to any third party, unless authorised or as required by law.  Any information we store may be securely stored offline or in secure cloud storage.

Where our site contains links or references to other sites, products, services and resources provided by third parties, any links and references are provided solely for your information and convenience only. We have no control over the contents of those links, sites, products, services or resources and we waive all responsibility to the extent permitted by law and provide no warranty for their accuracy, safety or security or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of those links or sites.

Liability

We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by a virus, system failure or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of our site or to your downloading of any material posted on it, or on any website linked to it. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the conduct, misconduct, negligence, tort, damage or loss however caused by an interpreter, employee or independent contractor engaged by Language Exchange Australia to assist you, including but not limited to inaccurate interpreting, delays, costs incurred, incorrect information provided, non-attendance or any other failure to perform the services. As we engage independent contractors to perform interpreting services to our clients, we strongly recommend to all our independent contractors that they maintain the required insurances necessary for independent contractors, including but not limited to public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

Jurisdiction

Our site is created and controlled by us in the State of Victoria, Australia.  As such, the laws of the State of Victoria will govern this website, Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.  By using our site you submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
